A Difference of Degree

God, then, is this Infinite Spirit which fills all the universe with Himself alone, so that all is from Him and in Him, and there is nothing that is outside. Indeed and in truth, then, in Him we live and move and have our being. He is the life of our life, our very life itself. We have received, we are continually receiving our life from Him. We are partakers of the life of God; and though we differ from Him in that we are individualized spirits, while He is the Spirit including us as well as all else beside, yet in essence the life of God and the life of man are identically the same, and so are one. They differ not in essence, in quality; they differ in degree.

God, Our Father

We can look to God as our Father. We can have a personal sense of His love for us and His interest in us, for He is concerned about us as a father is concerned for his children . . . . Incredible as it may seem, God wants our companionship. He wants to have us close to Him. He wants to be a father to us, to shield us, to protect us, to counsel us, and to guide us in our way through life.

Love is God Actualising

The human being is a creation of love. What was created in love can only live in love (Love is God).

There is no life without love.

A Habit of Conversing

That in order to form a habit of conversing with GOD continually, and referring all we do to Him; we must at first apply to Him with some diligence: but that after a little care we should find His love inwardly excite us to it without any difficulty.

If You Believe These Things

Christ said, "God is a Spirit, obey Him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23,24). God is Absolute Love, Truth, Justice, Goodness and Beauty. If you believe these things are real, whether you accomplish them or not, you believe in God.

God's Judgement

There is no judgement in what you call the afterlife. You will not even be allowed to judge yourself (for you would surely give yourself a low score, given how judgemental and unforgiving you are with yourself in this life).

No, there is no accounting, no one giving "thumbs-up" or "thumbs-down". Only humans are judgemental, and because you are, you assume that I must be. Yet I am not - and that is a great truth that you cannot accept.

Meditate On These Things

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

What God Might Ask

If you had a chance meeting and struck up a conversation with God what do you think God might ask you?
 1. God won't ask what kind of fancy car you drove. He will ask what good you did with the car He had given you.
 2. God won't ask the square footage of your house. He will ask if it was a loving home where all were welcome.
 3. God won't ask how many fancy clothes you had in your closet. He will ask what you did to help clothe those in need.
 4. God won't ask what social class you were in. He will ask what kindness you displayed to anyone, anywhere.
 5. God won't ask how many gadgets you possessed. He will ask whether those gadgets were used for the good of all.
 6. God won't ask what your highest salary was. He will ask what portion of your salary you gave freely to others.
 7. God won't ask how much overtime you worked. He will want to know about the amount of loving time you spent with your family.
 8. God won't ask how many promotions you received. He will ask what you did to promote others.
 9. God won't ask what your job title was. He will ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability in the service of others.
 10. God won't ask how many promotions you took to chase a dollar bill. He will ask how many promotions you refused to advance your family's quality of life.
 11. God won't ask how many "friends" you managed to make. He will ask how many people you were a friend to.
 12. God won't ask how many degrees you had. He will ask how many people you thanked for helping you get those degrees.
 13. God won't ask what your parents did to help you. He will ask what you did to help your parents.
 14. God won't ask what you did to help yourself. He will ask what you did to help others.
 15. God won't ask how many upper class friends you managed to socialise with. He will ask you how many people you reached out to and lifted up.
 16. God won't ask what you did to protect your rights. He will ask what you did to protect the rights of others.
 17. God won't ask what neighbourhood you lived in. He will ask who you cared for in your neighbourhood.
 18. God won't ask how many times you told the truth. He will ask how many lives you improved with that truth.
 19. God won't ask about the color of your skin. He will ask if you loved the gift of the colour of the skin He gave you.
 20. God won't ask how many times your deeds matched your words. He will ask how many you were able to help when your deeds did match your words.
